1 June 2012: Arrived in Himare in time for a pre-lunch swim today after roughly a 2hr drive north along the coast. We were advised that the road was good, which it was, but we were not warned about the solitary cows and sometimes donkeys who just stood in the road enjoying the shade of trees, often just around a bend, and refused to budge! We also swerved to miss a tortoise attempting to cross the road! Reminiscent of hedgehogs back home. Not sure if he made it as there was quite a bit of traffic on that mountain pass and he wasn't going very fast. The campsite is primitive to say the least but we have water and electric so it is better than wild camping and we have a wi-fi signal. We seem to be the only people here right now apart from a family of chickens who visited today:
We walked around the bay and photographed some crazy teenagers jumping in the sea from a great height. Even the girls were into it.
On the way back, we saw these donkeys (yes there are 2 but only the tail of one is visible) who were carrying building material up to a building site.
We move on north tomorrow towards Durres.
