10 May 2012: We bid farewell to new Dutch friends who are travelling north to Albania and we drive south towards Patras and a campsite we know to be open. Our Dutch friends kindly promise to email us with reports of campsites they find in Albania. Have given up trying to draw a line along roads on a Google map and resorted to straight lines. This gives the general idea:
View Parga to Patras in a larger map We approach the very attractive Antirrio-Rio Bridge over the Gulf of Corinth, claiming to be the longest bridge in Europe:
The camera is out of the window again and amongst shots of the road, the sky and lamp posts we find a few of the road and the bridge:
Looking back (also out of the van window) after crossing the bridge.
We are settled in a very nice wooded campsite for the night surrounded by a few intrepid Dutch with T5’s and plan to make the scary journey into Athens tomorrow.
