3 May 2012: We made our way down the coast to the port of Bari, knowing that there was a ferry leaving for Corfu at 7pm on Thursday evening but we had no reservation. At 12.30pm we were told that the ferry was fully booked and maybe there would be a cancellation and maybe not! We were told to come back at 5pm and they would know then. This gave us the chance to explore the old town and have lunch. The place was an interesting maze of alleyways with all kinds of small shops and scooters zooming everywhere.
We arrived back at the port early and by 5pm were told there was an available space for us. Here we are waiting to board the old tub “Olympus”.
Spot the van onboard.
We weren’t allowed to camp on the open deck in the campervan, as we had hoped, as this turned out to be only for those staying on to Igoumenitsa (on mainland Greece after Corfu) so we took a cabin for the overnight trip.
