8 May 2012: We caught the 12.30pm ferry from Corfu Town to Igoumenista on the Greek mainland. The ferry was having a quick paint touch up before leaving:

The crossing was a pleasant 2hr cruise with azure sea and fabulous mountain scenery in the distance and all for just €32. On arrival some regular customers were very anxious to disembark and the ramp was lowered earlier than health and safety measures we are accustomed to!

Here we come arriving on the mainland:

We arrived for the night at Valtos Beach, Parga, just down the coast from Igoumenista and one of a string of exotic looking bays with turquoise water and sandy beaches. The temperature was 26ºC and the campsite was right next to the beach:
