13 May 2012: We were let out by the security guard at 5am and made our way to the port. We were surprised at the amount of traffic early on a Sunday morning but found our way easily. Our boat, The Blue Star Line Naxos, left on time and we relaxed during the journey catching up on a little bit of lost sleep.
We arrived around midday and found a campsite on the edge of the main town, handy for ferries and other transport and not far from a good beach. The only other camper here was a young man called Phil Jones who was on the Wandering Star Motorcycle Tour, 40,000 countries, 42 countries in 12 months in aid of the Anthony Noland Trust. He can be found at: http://philjones060.blogspot.co.uk, he kindly gave us some handy hints for travel through Albania and Croatia.
We had a quick scout around town and explored this interesting 6th century AD cathedral church of Ekatontapiliani. Still not quite sure what the outside bells are about but it's very impressive inside.
