13 May 2012: We were let out by the security guard at 5am and made our way to the port. We were surprised at the amount of traffic early on a Sunday morning but found our way easily. Our boat, The Blue Star Line Naxos, left on time and we relaxed during the journey catching up on a little bit of lost sleep.

We arrived around midday and found a campsite on the edge of the main town, handy for ferries and other transport and not far from a good beach. The only other camper here was a young man called Phil Jones who was on the Wandering Star Motorcycle Tour, 40,000 countries, 42 countries in 12 months in aid of the Anthony Noland Trust. We had a quick scout around town and explored this interesting 6th century AD cathedral church of Ekatontapiliani. Still not quite sure what the outside bells are about but it's very impressive inside.
